Hallo everyone and welcome back to a whole New Year!
The performances at Christmas brought a lot of joy to all present around the SS. Great Britain. thank you so much for your spirit and enthusiasm!
As Covid numbers are up the rehearsals this term will initially be just one hour in length.
We will hopefully be working toward a short performance in All Saints Church in Clifton over the Easter holidays which will give us a nice but not overtaxing goal.
One new piece we will be working at with this in mind is this one which we will start looking at NEXT week.
It was written in 2018 for a Surrey based choir and newly arrived refugees by myself and Rebecca Askew and myself: it’s a humdinger.
I’ve just put the whole lot in Dropbox too so do have a look/listen before NEXT week!
Our running order for THIS Wednesday’s rehearsal will be:
- Warm up
- Paper Moon
- Walking on my Own: We will learn the riff castle from the end of
Starts with basses on ; “Good for the cat, good for the rabbit. Good for the kangaroo etc. “
- Senzenina : RIP Bishop Desmond Tutu
- May the Road
The Warm up will Include the words and tune from “Just the way you look tonight” by Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kerne
“Some day, when I’m awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight”
See you on Wednesday!
