Looking forward to seeing you back at our first session of term this Wednesday 7th September.
We are working towards the concert at Audley Redwood on 8th October where we will mostly perfrom repertoire that we already know and a couple of new songs.
So this week there will be a couple of new songs to tickle your musical taste buds.
Amohela dinposaro na : simple song : (I will bring words)
2) Now shall my inward joy arise is a wonderful hymn about singing by the early 18th century American composer William Billings. (Words and score will go up tomorrow: Tuesday)
It is very rousing and involves stamping too!
Here is a version to listen to but we will only do the opening verse of words:
3) Here also is a new song from Bulgaria. (Words and score will go up tomorrow: Tuesday)
Ey Zito Zela
“A girl from Baranka was cutting wheat with a golden hand and a silver sickle
“Oh stars, morning stars, don’t go away. It’s early golden one!”
We will also keep our existing summer repertoire in good shape for the forthcoming concert.
Could we therefore also sing:
4) Picture in a frame
5) The storm is passing over
6) May the road
See you on Wednesday!
Film trip to see Fisherman’s Friends : One and All this coming Sunday 11th
Though there are still showings of the film going on in the early part of this week, cinemas will not announce the times of showings of the film for this Sunday 11th until Thursday 8th and the way things are going the film might not be showing anywhere in the evening as I had originally thought.
Please check back here on Thursday and I will make a new post then letting you know when and where they are still showing it on Sunday. Hopefully some of you will still be able to make it.
