Christmas Term – yay!

Dear Voices,

Well the Christmas Term has finally arrived so we will be singing through a few favourite Carols to get us into the festive spirit and we will finish the term with a friends and family event.

We will be learning 2 new songs this term (or 7 if you don’t know any of them!). The first is called Harbour, written by Anna Tabbush. It was written as a message that as a country, we would like to welcome refugees and provide asylum to those fleeing Ukraine and other war-torn countries.

The second is called You don’t know what love is which you may have heard sung by the Gasworks. Choir Arranged by Ali Orbaum and written by her brother Jason. It’s an earworm so be warned! (score will appear once Ali has checked it).

We will also be revisiting Bésame Mucho which was requested by several of you last term. Bésame Mucho (Kiss me a lot) is a bolero song written in 1932 by Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez. It is one of the most popular songs of the 20th century and one of the most important songs in the history of Latin music.

Words, Teach tracks and scores are available in the usual place, in !This Term! folder on DropBox.

See you on the 1st November.
