Raising funds for St. Peter’s Hospice
Choral Workshop & Performance
Saturday 17 October 13:00 – 19:30
St Augustine’s Chapel, St Monica Trust, Cote Lane Westbury on Trym, Bristol BS9 3UN

An opportunity for everyone who enjoys singing and would like to participate in an informal workshop and performance of Handel’s Messiah (part 1 – The Nativity plus Hallelujah and Amen choruses).
On Saturday 17 October there will be a choral workshop in the splendid chapel at St Monica Trust, Westbury on Trym, Bristol, bringing together all voices: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. The event will be directed by Matthew Bale, and will be accompanied by orchestra and soloists, culminating in an informal concert for friends and family and Hospice supporters at the end of the day.
An ability (even very elementary!) for participating singers to read music is important. However, there are websites available that give note-learning assistance, which could be very useful for singers who would feel more confident participating with some pre-event preparation.
The workshop will start at 12:30 and the day will culminate with a performance at St. Monica’s Chapel from 18:30.
Cost for the afternoon workshop is £30 to include refreshments and afternoon tea. We will be using the Novello : Watkins Shaw edition and you are welcome to bring your own copy of the score or we have a limited number available to hire at £5 per score.
If you would like to participate in the event, please contact Sarah Hunter email : dayservicesadmins@stpetershospice.org to check availability and to request a Booking Form. There will be no charge for audience at the performance, however there will be a retiring collection in aid of St Peter’s Hospice. We very much hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an enjoyable and memorable occasion.
